In Moldova, the total volume of construction work in January-March 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, decreased by 6.3% in comparable prices.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, this was the result of a decrease in the volume of new construction work by 5.8%, the volume of major repairs by 32.8% and the volume of other construction work (demolition, site preparation work for subsequent construction work, etc.) by 35.6%. According to the NBS, in January-March 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, an increase in comparable prices in the volume of completed construction work on residential buildings was noted. At the same time, the volume of completed construction work on non-residential buildings and engineering structures in the analyzed period decreased by 0.5% and by 13.1%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2023.
