Electrical installation work is a type of work aimed at connecting consumers to the power grid and ensuring a stable power supply while adhering to design parameters. It can be performed during the construction of new buildings and structures, as well as during renovations and repairs to buildings or individual premises. As a result, electrical appliances and equipment installed in the building must receive electricity at the required voltage, current, power, and operating frequency. During electrical installation, it is important to ensure the safe operation of the building's electrical network.

All technical and finishing work on facilities related to electrical installation must be performed only by specialists who meet qualification requirements and have the appropriate permits. Compliance with all regulatory requirements, including electrical and fire safety standards, is mandatory at every stage.

Let's look at the main stages of electrical installation work:

1. Obtaining the necessary information about the electrical installation site – taking measurements, reviewing existing design documentation, and conducting engineering surveys.

2. Preparing a design for internal and external electrical networks based on the obtained data and regulatory requirements.

3. Selecting and delivering components, equipment, and materials for installation to the site.

4. Performing the electrical installation work itself, which includes laying cable lines and installing and connecting protective, distribution, and other equipment.

5. Commissioning. Operating voltage is supplied to the system, the operation of connected devices and equipment is checked, and parameters are monitored. If necessary, deficiencies are corrected and additional adjustments are made.

After successful testing, the installed system is commissioned.

Types of electrical installation

Requirements for electrical installation activities and their composition depend on the type of the electrified object, its technical and architectural parameters, the types of electrical installations or devices being installed, and their characteristics.

What types of electrical installation work are there?

  • Installation of internal wiring and external cable lines;

  • Installation of distribution and protective equipment, and electricity meters;

  • Installation of electric lighting;

  • Installation of sockets, switches, and circuit breakers;

  • Installation of power electrical equipment, industrial process equipment, or installations;

  • Connection of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and pumping equipment;

  • Installation and commissioning of low-current systems – all types of alarms, video surveillance, access control systems, internet, cable television, etc.

All technical and finishing work on electrical installations must be performed only by specialists who meet the required qualifications and hold the appropriate permits. Compliance with all regulatory requirements, including electrical and fire safety standards, is mandatory at every stage.
